Abkhazia demands to solve the problem of Georgian refugees
Georgia is trying to impose unacceptable for Abkhazia solutions on the return of refugees, the head of the Foreign Ministry Vyacheslav Chirikba said at a meeting with a delegation of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) led by the head of the European Bureau Daniel Endres, the Interfax reported.
"The issue of Georgian refugees cannot be solved without the participation of the Abkhaz side", the head of the Abkhazian Ministry of Foreign Affairs categorically stated.
"The UN General Assembly adopted several resolutions on the return of refugees, but neither the Abkhazian nor the South Ossetian side were not allowed even at the stage of preliminary discussions, even though we asked for it. That's why we have responded to this by the fact that we've refused to discuss the refugee problem within the framework of Geneva talks", Chirikba said.
"The problem should be solved either in the form of discussions in Geneva or at the UN General Assembly, but with the participation of Abkhazia", the Minister stated.
