Russian MFA: Saakashvili prevents Georgia from development of relations with us
Moscow sees no obstacles for the development of relations with Tbilisi but the position of President Mikhail Saakashvili, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated.
"If it depends on us, there are no obstacles for the development of relations in many areas", Lavrov said.
"Basically, we do not want to create unnecessary difficulties for our citizens to communicate", the minister said, adding that in conditions when Moscow and Tbilisi have no diplomatic relations, Russian and Georgian energy companies cooperate, as well the rate of flights between the countries increases.
"If you're trading, you may more actively look for partners to make Georgian products be sold in Russia, and the Russian - in Georgia. Nothing is impossible", Lavrov said.
"But of course, we cannot fail to concern about the ongoing policy to depict Russia as the enemy for the Georgian people, to cultivate such spirit in young Georgians, as well as to sow the seeds of enmity for years to come", he stressed.
