Burjanadze called Irakli Alasania Saakashvili's project
Ex-speaker of Georgian parliament, leader of the opposition party "Democratic movement - united Georgia" Nino Burjanadze called former Georgian ambassador to the UN, the leader of "Our Georgia - Free Democrats" Irakli Alasania "a project" of President Mikhail Saakashvili, GN reported.
"Unfortunately, Alasania has turned into "Saakashvili's project". For three years, Saakashvili is in power thanks to Alasania. He "laundered image of a Mikhail Saakashvili when congratulated him for conducting democratic local elections in 2010. Thus Saakashvili used Alasania as his project", Burjanadze said.
"In 2009, when thousands of people came out into the streets, Alasania appeared initiator of negotiations with the government ... In 2009, even if we have not made Saakashvili to resign, at least we have achieved the right to hold parliamentary elections. But exactly Alasania's consent to hold local elections has caused absolute frustration of Georgian society", the former speaker said.
"Project "Alasania" has been created against Burjanadze and for keeping Saakashvili in power", the oppositionist believes. "And this project is working well to date", she said.
