Rogozin told about the potential of NATO missile defense
NATO now has one thousand missiles, and Moscow has no guarantees that the U.S. government stops at this level, Deputy Prime Minister, RF President's Special Representative on cooperation with NATO on missile defense Dmitry Rogozin said, the radio station "Echo Moskvy" reported.
"Already now, the capacity to intercept a missile together with its allies, whom the Americans push to the procurement of ships, with the system to intercept a missile "Aegis", so, their total capacity is about 1 thousand missiles", Rogozin said, noting that it was already close to the limit set by the agreement of the START III.
Permanent Representative stressed that Moscow is no guarantee that the U.S. stops at this level.
"We've no guarantee that after the first, second and third phase (development of missile defense system) there won't be the fourth, fifth, sixth. They won't stop their technology after 2020. Yes, bullshit! They will continue to further develop and increase technical specifications of the missiles and specifications of information systems (ABM)", Deputy Prime Minister said.
"The very existence of a parameter of a missile defense system, making it capable of shooting down strategic missiles and the very fact of placement of these bases and naval of ABM in the northern seas show a clear and almost undisguised anti-Russian nature of missile defense system", Rogozin said.
