Police bus was blown up in Turkey, 27 people injured
One person was killed and 27 were injured in explosion of police bus in the city of Hakkari in southeastern Turkey, RIA Novosti reported with reference to the local media.
The explosion occurred in the city center, 100 meters from City Hall when the bus was driving down the street carrying a rapid response unit. The bomb was between two parked cars and was put into action when the police bus approached.
According to the governor Muammer Tyurker, the killed person and survivors are civilians.
Note that after arriving of the police unit to the place of emergency there took place a fight between the police officers and crowd which has been throwing the stones at them. To disperse the crowd the police opened warning fire in the air, used water cannons and tear gas.
Now the accident area is blocked by riot police, all security measures were undertaken, all entrances and exits are blocked.
So far, no one has claimed responsibility for the attack. Police suspect that the action was carried out by Kurdish separatists.
