Nachkebia doubts that Saakashvili won't resign
Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili won't resign in order to head the electoral list of ruling team in parliamentary elections this fall, the leader of "New Rights" Manana Nachkebia said, the GHN reported.
"I do not think that today they feel such a need. They will take such a decision not long before the elections, according to the situation in the country, that is, they will recheck their rating and only after that they will take such extreme measures", Nachkebia said.
At the same time, the opposition leader does not exclude this possibility completely. "I think that at this stage the main task of the authorities is to obtain a majority in parliament. Based on this, it is not excluded that the president has done such a step", she said.
Nachkebia said that the president has already begun an active campaign.
"The authorities are controlling the situation. They conduct quite serious social researchs. We see what a hyperactive campaign Saakashvili has started", she said.
