Defence of Julian Assange brought an action against him

2012-02-01 12:34

The lawyers of the founder of the notorious Internet resource WikiLeaks Julian Assange, who claim that they had not got their fee, have filed a lawsuit against him.

"We held with Julian Assange extensive and lengthy negotiations regarding non-payment of fees and court costs. Assange has changed his place of residence and has not reported it to the lawyers, so we see no other alternative but to go to court", "Vesti" quoted statement by the law company.

Today in the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom, the opening of two days hearings devoted to the consideration of an appeal against extradition of Assange to Sweden, where he is suspected of committing crimes of a sexual nature, will be held.

Due to the fact that the founder of famous portal refuses to plead guilty, his lawyers have reached the highest court in an attempt to cancel the earlier London High Court decision to expel the Australian, BBC reported.

The decision to extradite the founder of WikiLeaks to Sweden was taken in February 2011, after which Assange and his lawyers have repeatedly filed unsuccessful appeals.

As recalled by RIA Novosti, the defence of Julian Assange insists that all the charges against its client are sponsored and politicized. The charges against Assange are associated with his activities. The lawyers argue that the publication of closed diplomatic correspondences on WikiLeaks has outraged many states. In particular, the U.S. set up against him. In this regard, Julian Assange is afraid that after extradition to Sweden he would be expelled to the States.
