China: Western pressure on Iran would destabilize the market
The pressure on Western countries on Iran has a negative impact on the world energy market, said in an editorial article published in the newspaper of the Communist Party of China "Renmin Ribao" ("People's Daily"), ITAR-TASS reported.
"Recently, the biggest uncertainty has arisen due to the sharp deterioration of relations between the U.S. and Iran", the article says. And this is "a negative impact on the world energy market, casting a shadow on the process of global economic recovery", "People's Daily" reported.
Western sanctions against Iran's oil sector have already led to signs of rising oil prices and it "would have serious consequences", the newspaper stresses. It also reported a warning about the consequences of closing the Strait of Hormuz to the world economy.
"In the current difficult circumstances, relevant parties should keep calm and restraint and not to aggravate the conflict. Strengthening dialogue - is responsible step necessary not only to resolve the Iranian nuclear issue, but also to eliminate the uncertainties in the global economy", the newspaper says.
