The head of the administration of Stavropol arrested
The court has arrested the head of the administration of Stavropol Igor Bestuzhev, Stavropol spokesman Vladimir Markin reported, according to the Interfax.
"Bestuzhev is suspected of attempting to take a bribe of 50 million rubles for the lease of the land", Markin.
Earlier it was reported that investigating authorities have opened a criminal investigation in respect of the Head of Administration of Stavropol Igor Bestuzhev on suspicion of attempted bribery.
"Through his Public Assistance Kozlov, acting jointly with any other civilian, providing real estate services, Bestuzhev tried to get a bribe from a citizen at a rate of 50 million rubles for the lease of the land area of five hectares, located in the municipal ownership of the city of Stavropol. However, Bestuzhev failed to realize his criminal intent ... due to the suppression of unlawful acts of Kozlov and his realtor friend by the police", Markin said.
"At present, Igor Bestuzhev is in pre-trial detention of Department of Internal Affairs of the city of Stavropol", the source in law enforcement agency in the region told RIA Novosti.
