Law enforcement officers of Yerevan have arrested a journalist of Armenian opposition newspaper "Haykakan Zhamanak" ("Armenian Time"), 45-year-old Haik Gevorgian. He is suspected of running down a man and leaving the spot. The head of Public Relations service of Armenian Police Ashot Aharonian reported about this on Friday, "Armenia News" reported.

According to the police, January 23, 2012, Gevorgian had run a pedestrian and fled the scene. Shortly thereafter, he was wanted. It was not specified what kind of injuries the victim had received, Lenta.ru reported.
"He is wanted since January 23? He had not been hiding from anyone. He had been preparing materials and, moreover, involved in a number of press conferences, including even in recent days", the "Caucasian Knot" quoted statement of one of my colleagues Haik Gevorgian, who had inked the arrest of the journalist to his professional activities.
