U.S. military will arrive to Georgia
In the near future, the working groups from the United States will arrive to Georgia for the development of a new phase of military cooperation between the two countries, Minister of Defence of Georgia Bacho Akhalaia said, according to Trend.
"This visit aims to carry out preparatory work to implement programs of cooperation in the framework of cooperation between the two countries at an entirely new level", the Minister said.
"If in previous years, the two countries' cooperation in the defense sector was focused on the military training of Georgia's officers, who participated in peacekeeping operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, now it will be about a specific U.S. assistance to improve Georgia's defense and security", he added .
Recall, the U.S. Congress made a real gift to the Georgian leadership for the New Year. American MPs approved the bill, under which Washington promised to significantly increase the supply of defensive weapons to Tbilisi as part of the military cooperation between the two countries.
