RF IC has charged another suspect in the murder of Roman Dumbadze

Investigation Committee has charged another suspect in the murder of disgraced Georgian General Roman Dumbadze, the RIA Novosti reported.


"On 24th of July 2012, a 25-year-old accomplice of the accused, a citizen of Georgia was arrested. Investigation believes that for the monetary reward, he brought to the scene of the crime the weapons, used for killing Dumbadze. During investigative activities the detainee has confirmed the known circumstances of the murder. Investigation has charged him with murder and arms trafficking. In the near future the investigation intends to petition the court to elect detention as a measure of restraint", RF IC spokesperson Vladimir Markin said.

As part of an investigation in conjunction with the operational staff of the Moscow Criminal Investigation Department previously there were arrested three alleged perpetrators of the crime, the Rosbalt reported. They are from Georgia. Currently, the IC is conducting investigative activities in respect of the three detainees. Investigation has already charged them with murder and weapons trafficking. All of them are detained. According to investigators, members of a criminal group were involved in the commission of a number of other serious crimes on the territory of the Moscow region.

May 21, 2012, ex-general of the Armed Forces of Georgia Roman Dumbadze was shot by unknown persons in Moscow, at the Rublyovka. According to witnesses, two unidentified men in masks shot Dumbadze. They rode on motorcycles. Having shot Dumbadze they immediately fled. He died at the scene before the arrival of the ambulance. A witness of the crime was a girl who was with Dumbadze. The motorcycles of the criminals were found later.
